The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) is running Wales’ first Voice Box awards supported by NAHT and Parentkind and we are inviting mainstream primary and special schools to take part.
The Voice Box awards aim to raise awareness of the importance and fun of communication and offer schools a lighthearted and inclusive way for pupils to develop their communication skills and build their confidence and self-esteem.
Schools can get involved by entering a joke between 5th September and 21st December 2018 – they can do this by supporting an individual pupil who wants to take part or by holding a joke-telling competition in your school to find your entry.
All participating schools will have their joke featured in the 2019 Wales Voice Box joke book and will receive a complimentary copy for their library.
Schools need to send their joke to our judging panel by 21st December 2018. We will then shortlist the best jokes to go forward to a live final, which will be held at The Senedd on 3rd April 2019. There will be 10 finalists selected to participate in the live final, and prizes on the day include an iPad.
